About Us
Book Partners Home is an extension of Nantucket Book Partners, an independent book business on Nantucket Island.
After designing the creative and inviting interiors of Nantucket Bookworks and Mitchell's Book Corner, owner Wendy Hudson turned her attention to designing the Second Story Loft, a luxury book-themed rental above Bookworks.
Sourcing pieces became a passion she soon shared with customers, friends, and family, and an additional chapter to her career was launched.
Now assisted by her artist daughter Evelyn Hudson, the duo are expanding their collection of pieces requested by guests and customers while designing additional rental properties on Nantucket and beyond.
Design Philosophy
We believe in the saying "Books do furnish a home!" and incorporate bookshelves in every space we design. From there, we add distinction and personality unique to each interior.
Our perfect spaces are filled with:
Books, art, plants, and texture
Wood, leather, wicker, stone
Brass, wool, patterns and color.
Objects filled with story and history
and above all, music, love, and laughter!
Wendy Morton Hudson
As a bookseller, Wendy wants every home to have a cozy fireplace and many well-lit spaces to curl up and read,
As a co-founder of Cisco Brewers and Triple Eight Distillery, a micro-brewery/distillery, Wendy insists on many locations in the home to fashion and freshen a drink. (Cheers to that!)
She loves thrill of the hunt and is always on the lookout to find perfect pieces and finishing touches for any space, whether in a thrift sttore, at a trade show, off on farflung travels, or even dumpside at Nantucket's own Take it or Leave it.
Evelyn Hudson
An artist by training, Evelyn's primary mediums are oil painting and fiber arts. She has a strong interest in garden design in addition to interiors, and is has intuitive knack for the "feel" of a space.
Evelyn is a great fan of eclectic music, reality shows about drag queens, and insightful podcasts, and would add at least one cat or dog to every home, no matter the size.
